My wife had never traveled on Amtrak, so when she had a vacation over the same week wed be taking our son to Clevelands Lakefront Station (to catch the westbound Capitol Limited,) I looked for a necessarily cheap destination for US. I discovered that as long as our sons train was running on (or nearly on) time, we could ride it to its next stop in Elyria ~ and then ride right back to Cleveland on the eastbound Lake Shore Limited! When she agreed to stay up all that night and cheerfully risk getting stuck in Elyria for as much as a day, my wife and I had a date! ...And oh yeah, ...everything went perfectly!Amtrak pulls out of Royal Oak as a freight train passes by in the opposite directionAmtrak at night in Royal OakHere are the Trains that Ive got. Amtrak P42DC #94 leads the train with Cascades F59PHI #468 trailing. The Train was about to leave when it had to stop to a late passenger. The Train eventually left. Train #2: Amtrak Cascades Train #516 arrived at Edmonds about 5 minutes late. Not too bad in this clear night. Trainiac Productions took another trip to Hamilton after the autumn sun had set. This trip was unique, though. Unique in the way that k5las werent the only sounds echoing throughout the air. A few hundred yards away from the platforms of the station is a warehouse/ old factory, and bits of wooded areas. On this night, while waiting on the platform for the next shot, we noticed Hamilton Township Police Dept. police cruisers pulling up to and around the station area, without lights or any noise. A few officers left the vehicles and ran to the area described earlier. Within minutes, gun shots rang out. Tons of gunfire could be heard, then it was silent. But not for long -- the officers had loudspeakers. It was a bit muffled, but a few words stood out, especially surrounded. Trainiac Productions has not discovered exactly what happened. The snow was very lightly and i caught this train at about 6:04pm on Sunday night. 10/18/09Seattle to Portland by rail - condensed into 11 minutes. I took the Amtrak Cascades Talgo commuter train home from Seattle, after visiting my Grandmother for the last time. After I left the locomotives I decided to go to Halstead St. and catch it going at a fast clip, but due to railfans luck a Westbound UP Rerouted stacktrain had to come through on the siding and block my view of it, but cool either way.
